From the President's Report 27 July 2026
It gives me great pleasure to introduce our new Umpires Advisor for the
2026/27 season, Sean 'Chook' Ingram.
Sean will spend the coming pre-season working closely alongside Norm to ensure a smooth transition into the role. I'm sure clubs will quickly get to know Sean as he visits grounds throughout the season.
His focus will be on strengthening our umpiring group, increasing participation, supporting our officials and, importantly, understanding what both clubs and the Association need from our umpiring fraternity moving forward.
I ask that everyone gives Sean a warm South Metro welcome.
While welcoming Sean, it is equally important that we acknowledge the outstanding contribution of Norm.
For the past eight years, Norm has provided exceptional service as our Umpires Advisor. His support to the Executive Committee, his involvement in the P&D process and his commitment to improving umpiring standards have been invaluable.
Fortunately for us, Norm isn't going far.
I'm delighted that he has accepted our invitation to join the P&D Panel alongside David King, Jacob Landsmeer, and others as a Chairperson. We are incredibly fortunate that his knowledge, experience and professionalism will continue to benefit our Association.
Norm, thank you for everything you've done over the past eight years.
