IAN HALE MEDAL

The Ian Hale Medal is awarded to the player adjudged the fairest and best in the Second Grade competition of the South Metropolitan Cricket Association. Introduced in the 2019–20 season, the medal recognises consistent excellence and sportsmanship at the second-highest level of senior competition.

Ian Hale has been a passionate contributor to community cricket in Perth’s southern suburbs for many decades. Originally involved with what is now the Kardinya Lakes Cricket Club, Ian was an active member of the Fremantle and Districts Mercantile Cricket Association prior to its merger with the South Suburban Cricket Association in 1996, which formed the South Metropolitan Cricket Association (SMCA).

Ian has served the Association in a variety of important roles, including Vice President, SMCA Representative to the WACA (Cricket West), and as the driving force behind the SMCA Radio Show. His dedication, leadership, and passion for promoting and growing the game have left a lasting mark on the association and the wider cricket community.
The Ian Hale Medal honours his service and ensures his contribution is remembered through one of the SMCA’s highest individual accolades.
