📣 SMCA Advisory – Saliva Use Prohibited

Effective immediatly, the South Metropolitan Cricket Association will adopt a no-tolerance approach regarding the use of saliva on the ball.


Following updated guidance from the Umpire's Advisor and in alignment with the Laws of Cricket regarding sweat, saliva is no longer permitted for ball maintenance in any grade.


🔹 First Offence: Warning issued to both the bowler and team captain

🔹 Subsequent Offence: A 5-run penalty will be applied


Umpires have been briefed and will monitor compliance across all fixtures.


Please ensure your players are informed prior to match day.
