Bicton Attadale Batsman Jordan Petrone was runout in the 38th over during a match against CBC played on 17 Mar 2019. He ran through the slips cordon and made contact with player Ben Judge from CBC with left hand. Mr Petrone was changed with making contact with an opposition player.

Tribunal notes:

1. Mr Petrone did not appear before scheduled P&D hearings on 21 and 26 March 2019, due to family reasons. Mr Petrone was suspended from playing in the SMCA competition and other competitions until he appeared before a P&D hearing. 2. Prior to the start of the the season, Bicton Attadale and Mr Petrone requested that the tribunal proceedings be held as soon as possible. 3. Mr Petrone pleaded NOT GUILTY and explained his version of the incident 4. No statement was received from Mr Judge. 5. The umpires statement was read. 6. Mr Romero from EFCC provided a character reference for Mr Petrone. 7. The panel noted that Mr Petrone had incurred a Prescribed Penalty on 27 Jan 2019 for making medium inappropriate contact with another player and was penalised for four (4) playing from 27 Jan to 24 Feb 2019. 8. The panel then considered the matter.

Penalty:

Mr Petrone was found GUILTY of the offence. Given that 10 playing dates had already elapsed this season and the circumstances for Mr Petrone's non-appearance in March 2019, the tribunal gave Mr Petrone a six (6) week SUSPENDED sentence for the remainder of this season and season 2020/21.
